PURE craft
I used to work at a "creative center" in P-hill and though it was a bit of a small time gig, my manager and co-workers were pretty awesome (Trish, you're the bomb) an there were a million ways to , well, be creative there. However, it was pricey and had I not been an employee I would have never taken the time to learn about crafts (such as picture frame decorating), and how sad it is that they get so little respect from the general public. Just because a cattle call of housewives stream into the shop to paint flower pots, and the result is immeasurably lame, doesn't mean that the act of painting a flower pot is lame as a rule. If I learned anything at that place it's that all materials have merit, whether it's a one hundred dollar tube of oil paint, or yarn from your granny's attic. Take ceramic fruit bowls for example; who would have thought they could be high art (and it is high art, if I do say so myself)...
